    Junior Investment Data Analyst

    Job description

    As an Investment Data Analyst you will work as part of a team on a variety of complex projects. You will serve as a key resource for each of your engagements by performing many intricate aspects of the work. As experience / expertise develops, the candidate could expect to assume greater responsibilities over time.

    NOTE : This role is for the Cape Town branch of Willis Towers Watson. All applicants should either reside in Cape Town or should have the means and support to be able to move to Cape Town shortly.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Contributing to the team’s activities across a portfolio of investment and consulting clients involving all aspects of performance monitoring as required
    • Production of monthly or quarterly investment reports as well as fact sheets for pension funds and other investment related work and calculations
    • Liaise effectively with colleagues and managers regarding data collection, analyses, and project execution
    • Prepare the first draft of deliverables for review by the consultant
    • Data clean ups, managing and assisting with automation of daily, monthly and quarterly tasks
    • Regulation 28 reporting

    Details of Responsibilities

    • Inputs, retrieves, updates and deletes information from electronic folders and files.
    • Reviews, checks, and verifies inputted information, client fact sheets, incoming data feeds, data bases, and other materials for accuracy and completeness.
    • Management of data inputting and accuracy of this data.
    • Population of information into excel files, word documents and power point presentations.
    • To follow up and liaise with vendors / asset managers for information.
    • Keep client portfolio information up to date for analysis, reporting and valuation purposes.
    • To assist in ensuring prompt delivery of client reports and updates.
    • Quality control of presentations
    • Interaction with managers telephonically or via email
    • Dealing with sensitive and confidential information
    • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills would be especially beneficial in this area

    The Requirements / Qualification & Experience

    • Good oral and written communication skills;
    • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels;
    • Ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner;
    • Ability to work both independently and in teams
    • Ability to multi-task
    • High energy individual looking for a dynamic growth-oriented environment
    • Quantitative Work Experience
    • An appropriate level of financial acumen
    • A recognised business diploma or higher, containing statistics
    • Highly computer literate and proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • An understanding of the South African Financial Industry and Markets would be beneficial
