    Employee Relations Manager

    Job description

    Managerial level position in the FMCG sector

    Salary: Market Related with Benefits

    Position Summary

    Reporting tthe Senior Human Resources Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the provision of a full Employee Relations service tthe Company on, legislation, development, communication, consultation, intervention, conflict resolution, research and statistics that builds and maintains relationships at the highest possible level between all stakeholders.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Implementation and execution of the Employee Relations strategy
    • Ensure compliance in terms of Legislation and Labour practices
    • Represent company at the CCMA (conciliations and arbitrations)
    • Assist with the drafting and updating of internal documentation, ie Policies and Procedures,
    • Employment Contracts etc
    • Guide coach and train Line Managers and employees on the Disciplinary, Grievance and Performance Management processes
    • Assist in the development of Employee Relations training material as and when required
    • Facilitate the Disciplinary and Grievance Process
    • Responsible for the submission of Employment Equity Plans and the co-ordination of Employment Equity Forum meetings
    • Facilitation of BBBEE implementation and execution
    • Responsible for conducting trend analysis and making recommendations tthe business
    • Ensure that all managers have the relevant employee relations manuals, reports and updates
    • Consult with Unions as and when required
    • Assist and guide the organisation in terms of compliance when dealing with organisational structural changes

    Position Requirements:

    Experience Required

    • A Human Resources/Legal/Labour qualification is essential
    • 3 – 5 years solid working experience
    • Experience in the FMCG industry essential
    • Policy development
    • Experience in dealing with Unions
    • Proven track record in CCMA cases at arbitration

    Functional Knowledge and Business Expertise Required

    • Good knowledge of Labour Law & CCMA proceedings
    • Working knowledge of BBBEE and Employment Equity
    • Computer literacy in Word and Excel is required
    • Driver’s license and own transport is essential

    • Above average communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Excellent planning and organisational , implementation, negotiation and control skills
    • Decision making
    • Analytical thinking and problem solving
    • High level of Attention tdetail
    • A good command of the English language
    • Fluency in an African language advantageous
    • Ability twork under pressure and maintain efficiency and confidentiality
    • Must be able tdsome travelling
