    (1770) Risk Practitioner

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Develop the FinStab integrated risk management, project risk management, compliance, ethics and BCM implementation/work plan in collaboration and alignment with Risk Management and Compliance Department (RMCD) [the Hub].
    • Facilitate and coordinate regular operational, project, compliance and ethics risk assessments as well as business impact analyses (BIA) and business continuity planning (BCP) review and update sessions in line with RMCD policies and frameworks, including BCM activities such as disaster recovery (DR) testing. 
    • Support the Hub in strategic risk assessment (SRA) planning, scheduling and execution.
    • Drive and champion the SARB ethics policy, serve as the first point of contact and provide advisory service to embed ethical behaviour, promote ethics awareness, support ethics governance activities and ensure ethics-related matters are reported through the appropriate channels.
    • Develop FinStab’s emerging risk profile by continually scanning the external environment to identify emerging risks and to facilitate scenario analysis for the department.
    • Monitor and identify changes in the applicable methodologies/legislation/regulations and local/international standards relating to FinStab’s area of accountability.
    • Facilitate compliance risk assessments and compliance self-assessments in line with departmental legislative and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct research on applicable legislation, review prior compliance reports and support the maintenance of the departmental regulatory universe.
    • Monitor implementation of the department’s strategic, operational, project, compliance and BCM risk response strategies and report progress to Spoke Management and the Hub.
    • Identify training needs for all integrated risk management, project risk management, compliance, ethics and BCM and facilitate on-the-job training and awareness sessions for new employees.
    • Create risk, compliance and specialised risk (cyber, physical and data privacy) awareness within the department through campaigns and appropriate media in consultation with the Hub.
    • Act as the central point of contact between FinStab, the RMCD and cyber and physical security risk functions, facilitating communication and dissemination of risk-related information, including the coordination of departmental requests on compliance matters such as polycrisis, scenario analysis and information security risk assessments.
    • Facilitate incident management processes, including the monitoring of corrective actions to closure.
    • Coordinate and support internal audit-related requests, including the provision of evidence where required. 
    • Coordinate business continuity management activities, including testing, business impact analyses, business continuity plan workshops and the maintenance of approved continuity records for departmental application systems.

    Qualifications

    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • a Bachelors degree (NQF 7) in Risk and Compliance, Audit, Compliance Management, Finance or an equivalent;
    • five to eight years’ experience in a risk, compliance, audit facilitation or related environment; 
    • accreditation with BCI;
    • ISO22301 certification; and
    • ethics certification.
