    National Quality Officer

    Job Description

    Purpose of the Role:

    • To facilitate and oversee the implementation, rollout and maintenance of a Quality Management System based on ISO 9 001: 2008 requirements within Value Limited consisting of Value Logistics and Freightpak.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation and rollout of a certified Quality Management System (QMS) based on ISO 9 001 requirements
    • Responsible for reporting of the status and progress with the implementation, rollout and maintenance of the QMS.
    • Ensure that Quality Objectives for the measuring of the performance of the QMS are set by top management and that these are regularly reviewed.
    • Arrange and attend Management Review meetings both on a facility and Corporate level.
    • Ensure that all staff are trained in the requirements of the QMS and that they understand their own roles and responsibilities.
    • Provide a training needs analysis to the Training Manager of the Group.
    • Ensure that scheduled customer satisfaction surveys are conducted by the Business Unit Managers, that opportunities for improvement are identified and corrective actions implemented.
    • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators to measure the efficacy of the QMS.
    • Ensure that an internal audit programme is in place and that audits are conducted in line with ISO 19 0011 guidelines.
    • Liaise with the external certification body on all matters relevant to the external certification process.
    • Work as a team with existing quality team with the Value Group.

    Administration:

    • Ensure that information such as client requirements, complaints, corrective actions taken, corespondation with Clients etc. are filed on the QMS
    • Monthly reporting of progress and reporting to the Board on a quarterly basis.
    • General:
    • Attend weekly SHEQ Meetings to provide feedback regarding progress and status of the QMS

    Knowledge:

    • Good working knowledge of the implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System Based on ISO 9 001: 2008.
    • Computer literacy in the following software programs such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Good report writing skills

    Physical and Mental Requirements:

    • Be able to work under stress.
    • Must be self motivated and able to work independently.
    • Able to work in a team and also to facilitate and guide team discussions.
    • Be able to work independently
    • Good communication skills.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Matric + National Diploma in Safety Management or B. Tech. in Safety Management
    • Working experience in the Logistics and Warehousing Industry should be advantageous.
