Purpose Of Role

The Pension Fund Accounting team is responsible for the provision of fund accounting (monthly and daily) services to institutional clients within the UKMEA region.

Fund Accountants Are Responsible For

• Preparation of monthly and daily fund valuations as well as all associated reporting, including IM reconciliations
• The completion of daily and weekly cash and security position reconciliations.
• Client and Investment Manager query resolution

• Develop an in depth understanding of all aspects of the role
• Develop a good understanding of the broader operating model
• Independently perform core tasks per daily/monthly checklists
• Develop a good understanding of State Street systems
• Work in a manner that produces accurate and timely results

Communication

• Communicate effectively and build constructive relationships within the team, with the various SA and UK Client Service teams as well as all relevant internal teams and departments
• Ensure your line manager as well as other appropriate persons are kept aware of all issues that may impact upon the quality of service being delivered

• Take a pro-active interest in own training and development
• Actively participate in appraisal process by completing a self-evaluation and identifying areas for development
• Risk And Compliance
• Build a sound understanding of departmental policies and procedures
• Develop a basic awareness of SLA’s as appropriate
• Any potential risk incidents should be reported to your immediate line manager in a timely manner

Skills / Knowledge

• A very good understanding of accounting principles
• A sound understanding of financial markets and financial instruments
• A good working knowledge of MS Excel
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to cope with a steep learning curve and take a proactive approach to learning
• Ability to work in a pressurised, deadline-driven environment is essential
• Level Of Education
• B.Com. / B. Bus. Sci. / similar

Experience

• 1 – 2 years working experience in a fund accounting, fund administration and/or similar environment is preferable
• Preference will be given to EE candidates(Qualification)
