Cost and Systems Accountant at A-Gas South Africa

Job description

A chance to use initiative and innovation in a newly created role within a small Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Manager we are looking for a candidate who has a high level of technical ability in accounting (5 - 7 years work experience) with the appropriate tertiary qualification, supervisory experience, advanced computer skills (extensive experience in Excel), proven track record in stock and inventory and who has a passion for IT and systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Full inventory function (stock purchasing, reconciliation, costing, analysis)
• Preparation of flash report and management accounts for FM review
• Efficient use of the Asset Management system and training of others
• IT projects driver/implementation of new internal systems - mapping procedures and training in use of systems
• Effective use of accounting packages
• Reporting and forecasting
• Review and implementation of internal controls and processes
• Management of junior finance team
