Operations Controller at Big Concerts

Job Description

The operations controller will assist the Operations Manager with procurement, ticketing, merchandise and operational objectives, this will also include any ad-hoc duties that may arise from time to time by management:

Project related:

•  Implementing, facilitating and supporting communications with international production managers and local production regarding technical and non-technical issues and ensuring that early communications are formulated with international production managers.
•  Acquiring technical and non-technical riders in advance by means of ensuring that the riders are asked for and evaluating the details of the riders.
•  Attending project committee meetings after which providing feedback internally.
•  Providing information of production schedules for shows.
•  Providing regular production progress reports and highlighting key milestones to the operations manager for review.

Procurement:

•  Act as the representative/liaison of Big Concerts/Live Nations in an operations capacity with regards to procurement of non-technical supplies as well as technical supplies.
•  Sourcing alternative quotes from suppliers for cost reduction purposes whilst not comprising or jeopardizing the quality of Big Concert’s/Live Nation’s concerts.
•  Assisting with the preparation of service level agreements with suppliers, review of all SLA’s on an annual basis.

Ticketing:

•  Administrating and action all event builds
•  Liaising with venues to receive all floor plans for approval
•  Daily inventory management to confirm the accuracy of the reporting and eliminating any issues that may arise on an inventory and system basis.
•  Pre-sale management for all on-sales as required by artist, promoter and relevant partners.
•  Ticket approvals in conjunction with the artist and marketing department (text, logos, placements).
•  Weekly/Monthly reporting on sales & sales trends to operations manager.

Merchandise:

•  Liaising with artist merchandise agencies to secure merchandise deals and negotiate merchandise deals.
•  Pre-production of all show merchandise, including on-site operational requirements, sourcing, printing, logistics, staffing.
•  Budget preparation and planning for all tour merchandise in conjunction with artist merchandisers.
•  Post show sales reconciliation and completion of all settlements and reporting. This will include settling and reporting of all accounts for review by the operations manager.

Requirements:

•  Finance Degree (Bcomm or similar)
•  1-3 years Accounting Experience
•  Procurement experience highly advantageous
•  Experience within the entertainment industry highly advantageous
•  Excellent Excel skills
•  Excellent numerical skills
•  Attention to detail and highly organized
