    What are the responsibilities for the role?

     

    • Custodian of the Permit to work procedures for Siemens. Coordinate Maintenance schedules.
    • Supervise the use and safe operation of machinery.
    • Legal Compliance to the General Machinery Regulations.
    • Assistance in Development of the EHS OEM Platform
    • Development of OEM Procedures
    • Timely delivering of Permits
    • Development of Permit Procedures
    • Coordination of Maintenance

     

    Hazard Identification And Risk Assessment

     

    Ability to conduct a base-line risk assessment in a work place. Be capable of:

     

    • Explaining the specified requirements to conduct a base-line risk assessment.
    • Preparing for a base-line risk assessment.
    • Conducting a base-line risk assessment.
    • Initiating remedial actions for hazards identified and risks assessed.

       

    Formal Incident Investigation Training

     

    • Inspection of the incident scene.
    • Interviews of witnesses.
    • Gathering of documents, procedures, practices and process evidence.
    • Drawing of plans, taking photographs.
    • Collecting physical evidence for forensic analysis.

     

    What do I need to qualify?

     

    • Completed BEng. Degree or BTech in Electrical Engineering
    • Completed Government Certificate of Competence
    • Minimum of 8 – 10 years working experience within an Engineering & Maintenance environment is essential
    • Extensive knowledge of the electricity and utilities environment and the respective technologies
    • Understanding of South African Legislation relating to SHE e.g. Mine Health and Safety Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act etc
    • Shutdown Turnaround planning and scheduling tools
    • Technical knowledge on equipment standards, maintenance approaches and maintenance strategy development
    • Influencing maintenance requirements in regulatory codes
    • Understanding of project and business development and evaluation of business alternatives
    • Ability to work within a matrix within projects and business
    • Understanding of global business and requirements
    • Resilience and proven ability to deliver
    • Proven leadership experience and deadline driven
