Mid-Level Web Developer at Cavalry Media

Cavalry Media is looking for a mid-level web developer to join our Johannesburg based team. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for creating exceptional online experiences and that wants to be part of an exceptional development team.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years web development experience
• Solid working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
• Strong responsive design knowledge
• Creating html that is SEO friendly
• Ability to author own JavaScript
• Experience of structuring a large JavaScript code base, modularisation and packaging
• Experience with JavaScript-based frameworks (jQuery, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of Bootstrap
• Understanding of PHP
• Development experience in system integration-driven projects and applications
• A track record of writing code that is clean, understandable and cross browser compatible
• Experience with a revision control systems such as Git
• An appreciation for the interplay of design and development (including responsive design principles)
• Experience with any of the following content management systems: ExpressionEngine, Drupal, Magento, WordPress
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic
• A sense of humour
• A strong portfolio of work applications without a portfolio will not be considered
