    Assistant Finance Manager

    Job Description

    The following rewarding career opportunity in Finance exists for a proactive and dynamic individual.

    Responsibilities:

    • Management of daily accounting processes such as, authorization of local and overseas payments; review and authorization of journals; review outstanding order report on a monthly basis; authorization of creditors payments; analysis of control accounts
    • Analyzing financial reports
    • Processing month-end on JDE
    • Mentoring and training the team
    • Management of creditors function
    • Developing /revising policies and processes
    • Assisting with year-end and quarterly financial reports
    • Project management

    Core Requirements:

    • A relevant three year Accounting Degree
    • At least 5 years postgraduate financial management experience
    • Strong financial accounting skills
    • Supervisory experience 
    • Detailed knowledge of VAT and GRAP
    • Appreciation for PFMA and Treasury regulations
    • Computer literacy – spreadsheet and accounting packages (must have worked in a JDE/SAP/BAAN environment)  
    • At least three years auditing experience with articles  will be preferable
    • Problem solving , facilitation and people skills
    • Ability to train/mentor department staff
    •  Preparation of financial statements

    The SAMRC offers a total cost-to-company remuneration package will be negotiated in consideration of experience and qualifications.
