    Senior Business Analyst

    Job Description

    Position responsibilities:

    As a Senior Business Analyst in our functional strategy enablement development team you will be part of an agile team consisting of developers and a product owner. The team takes full responsibility for its solution which includes both working on continuous improvements as well as innovations.

    In your role, you will, together with the team, be responsible for the quality assurance of the functional area as well as act as functional expert. As this team is focused on enterprise use of Front Arena in sell-side customers, it is extremely challenging and demands cross-asset front-to-back-to-risk domain knowledge and expertise.

    As a Business Analyst, you will:

    • Develop domain knowledge to enhance our product solution
    • Support the developers of the team as well as our Clients with domain expertise
    • Define the operational objectives through business functions and different user categories to output requirements
    • Constructing workflows charts and diagrams and writing specifications (particularly test specifications)
    • Identify problems or weaknesses and suggest improvements
    • Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements, sometimes spanning multiple sprints in multiple releases
    • Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
    • Build and maintain test data
    • Plan and perform test activities
    • Write and maintain user documentation
    • Create training materials and deliver training
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
    • Interact with developers, product owners, other business analysts and other teams to ensure delivery of a sound solution

    Position requirements:

    • We are looking for candidates with a keen interest both in the financial markets and in software for trading and risk management.

    We expect you to have the following knowledge:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Risk Management, or Business Sciences
    • Substantial experience in the financial sector, software industry or in a financial software functional support environment. Substantial Financial Markets knowledge and experience is a pre-requisite.
    • On-site experience working in hands-on roles in financial software implementation and/or software upgrade projects in Banks
    • Technical knowledge, preferably experience of software development life cycles in a Business Analyst or Quality Assurance Analyst role
    • A great interest in developing sustainable solutions with focus on quality and performance.

    Preferably, you should also have:

    • Front Arena or similar (Murex, Calypso, Misys) trading and risk management software experience.
    • Suitable candidates for this position will show:
    • Experience of system implementations and project life cycles including software development life cycles
    • Working understanding of Capital Markets instruments both listed and OTC
    • Experience in multiple asset classes front to back
    • Problem-solving skills, willingness for hands-on work and knowledge hungry
    • Structure, organisational and administrative skills
    • Excellent documentation skills
    • A genuine interest to stay abreast of changes in the financial markets and its players
    • Stress tolerance, service-mindedness, and teamwork orientation
    • Good presentation and communication skills
    • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
    • Negotiation skills and an ability to handle customer relations in a professional way
    • Ability to interact with people at different levels within an organization
    • But most of all we expect you to have a genuine interest in solving financial related problems and working with software development.
