Job description

A Cape Town based digital solutions company is seeking a Senior Analyst Programmer / Mobile Solution Designer to be responsible for analysis and design of new systems and databases. Must have 5 - 7 years’ solid experience in programming, using Java and the Android SDK or else iOS SDK using Objective-C, for both iPad and iPhone.

DUTIES

• Develop technical specifications / program specifications and systems documentation.
• Analysis and design of new systems and databases.
• Responsible for basic systems analyst functions.
• Analyses system design requirements.
• Provides sizing and scoping for development work required.
• Design & document technical specifications/program specifications
• Recommend and implement effective applications, covering areas such as maintenance, support, man-machine interface and data management requirements.
• Develop, test and implement new systems and system changes in accordance with agreed coding standards and principles.
• Provide development solutions, which maintain the technical integrity of the solution.
• Perform data conversion.
• Document system features and functionality. The above is done with no supervision.
• Ensure technical integrity of the solution
• Ensures that all system changes align with coding standards and principles
• Mentor Programmers and Analyst Programmers through the whole software development life cycle.
• Accountable for service delivery through own efforts with no supervision.
• Individually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output quality for periods of up to 6 months.
• Collaborate effectively with others to achieve personal results.

REQUIREMENTS

• Matric, with a Relevant Programming/IT Diploma/ Degree
• Good practical understanding and experience around the Android/IOS UI/UX and best practices and techniques.
• 5 - 7 years’ solid experience in programming, using Java and the Android SDK OR iOS SDK using Objective-C, for both iPad and iPhone
• Experience working with services within a SOA environment via REST and JSON.
• Experience working with UX/UI Designers.
• Experience in leading technical development teams.
• Experience publishing application to the Google Play or Apple store.
• Experience working with Maven, Gradle, Git, Confluence, Android Studio and Eclipse.
• Experience working with third party libraries.
• Exposure to working within a Cloud infrastructure.
