Job description

Brief Overview of the role:

• Responsible for the technical quality of junior team members within the team.
• Follow the use of department-wide programming conventions and procedures.
• Ensure the writing of concise documentation for applications and websites.
• Take initiative to use new technologies and methodologies that will benefit projects and responding to the introduction of software advances and upgrades.
• Participating in the recruitment of new staff.

Skills/Proficiencies required:

Required Technical skills/experience:

• 6+ years hands on development experience using Microsoft .NET technologies to build web, desktop and/or console applications as well as windows and web services.
• Excellent C# language skills, and various experience using ASP.NET MVC, XAML, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, Telerik/Kendo Controls, AngularJS/KnockoutJS, XML, Unit Testing, Entity Framework/NHibernate.
• OOP programming (theoretical and practical experience of OO design principles and patterns)
• Experienced with Agile methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD) and especially Domain Driven Design (DDD).
• Familiarity with Visual Studio programming environments and Team Foundation server (TFS).
• Understanding of WCF Services, WEB API, IIS configuration and webserver performance monitoring a plus.

Knowledge/Experience of the following is advantageous:

• Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines.
• Search engine optimisation.
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting IIS and ASP.Net applications in production.
• Knowledge on use of new and advanced technical concepts of latest .Net Frameworks.
• eCommerce web application with a shopping cart process.
• Experience building common frameworks that can be used across multiple applications.
• Knowledge of continuous integration/build environments using TFS.

Training

While an advanced level of computer literacy is essential to this position, it is envisaged that additional training and support will be necessary for the suitable applicant, in order to acquaint him/her with Euromonitor standards/procedures and to keep pace with technological advances.
