    Commercial Analyst

    Job description

    The key role of the Commercial Analyst will be to help the Regional MD and Country Manager in sales & support efforts and assist the local market teams in achieving these goals through effective administration, monitoring and creation of materials with a view to the strategic outcome required, as well as managing the diaries of the Country Manager, Regional MD and Commercial Manager.

    Main Accountabilities:

    • Commercial Sales
      • Assist and make recommendations to the sales teams with administration around key sales channels, retention & growth plans for existing and future customers
      • Work with regional directors and other commercial leads to help create plans for the SMO and NDC markets
      • Take ownership of Commercial reports using data gathered from appropriate sources
      • Fully understand top 25 commercial engagements, and report quarterly on these using data gathered from Sales teams and other sources thinking about the strategic outcomes necessary
      • Make recommendations for improvements to processes.
      • Ability to think strategically and challenge current and functional processes, as appropriate.
      • Commercial Support
      • Devise a creative approach to the administration of business cases
      • Work with the Commercial team to monitor performance and feedback where required
      • Create in line with Africa strategy presentations for use by Regional Managing Director and give over view before key meetings and events
      • Manage CRM reports in line with the operation team, highlighting issues and following up with teams to gain detail
      • Oversee corporate team projects and timelines, ensure people are aware of deadlines and challenge when fail to meet these
      • Liaise with NDC team to understand and report on market tracking, consolidate these with the SMO’s to compile full Africa picture and make recommendations to management.
      • Take meeting minutes and track follow up with team to provide an overview to senior management on progress
      • Follow up with finance and sales teams on claw backs and report on tracking
      • Understand all deliverables and chase up issues where required
    • Commercial Strategy
      • Many ad hoc items involving project management, trackers, due diligences, presentation preparations.
      • Assist in coordination of solutions development, product, and new business implementations
      • Ensure all business activities comply with relevant financial, legal and ethical standards
      • Work with the Senior Commercial Manager and country heads to prepare SMO and NDC business cases. Also work closely with SMO heads to work on deals for the large customers in the region
      • Assisting in the tracking of Africa key performance indicators on a monthly basis
      • Assist Commercial teams in the use of CRM and provide support where needed
      • Ensure that diaries are managed proactively and travel arrangements made for senior management team
      • Be a facilitator for escalations and be commercially astute to understand what priorities require the attention of senior management
      • Prepare Regional Managing Director for all meetings and travel, ensure he has all information and documents required and is fully briefed on Customers as appropriate
      • Communication and execution of ideas

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education:

    • Good Finance background, at least Bachelor degree in a relevant subject
    • Must have the ability to be persuasive and professional managing senior leaders time
    • Must possess an overriding desire to understand, agree and meet customer needs and exceed their expectations, constantly striving to achieve customer satisfaction.
    • Must have the ability to assess and analyse situations accurately, grasping complexities and identifying key issues, applying sound judgment. Seeks and takes responsibility for work issues. Believes they have the power to make things happen
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required, with an ability to vary approach and style to different audiences in order to achieve a specific result.
    • Strong track record of successful relationship management
    • Highly numerate and commercially aware. Solid understanding of business finances
    • Must have exceptional Excel, PowerPoint and reporting skills
