Main Job Purpose

To install, commission and maintain hardware and software for control systems and instrumentation systems. To perform engineering-related projects and design out recurring engineering problems. To develop and enhance engineering standards.

Job Summary

• Hardware and Software Design, Installation and Commissioning. Assist with factory engineering standards for all new and old installations
• Influence technical specification, user requirements and adherence to factory engineering standards of new installations
• Maintenance and Fault finding. Assist in Maintaining PLC, Scada’s, Servers, Networks and instrumentation
• Documents operations training manuals for training of I and C system users. PM 7 step implementation. Train maintenance personnel in conjunction with engineering trainer on maintenance and operation of new systems
• Provide technical support on focused improvements, innovations and capital projects
• Assist technical writers with engineering SOP.
• Modify equipment to improve reliability, establish preventative maintenance standards and ensure effectiveness of PM system
• Perform standby duty for critical plant processes. BOC implementation
• SHE ensure that standards are adhered to and investigates accidents and incidents and draws up reports

Key Requirements

• N3 in Instrumentation/Controls / Electronics Engineering. Trade test will be an advantage
• 1-3 years Instrumentation Artisan experience in FMCG and Manufacturing
• PLC maintenance, especially Allen Bradley and Siemens, Scada’s, Servers, Networks and instrumentation experience is essential
