    Analyst, HIV

    CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills to conduct routine analysis of available data to understand the current context of the TB, HIV and ART programs. The candidate should be able to interrogate the data and be critically minded to seek out and identify challenges with the data and be solution oriented to address identified challenges. The analyst will work closely with the Senior Technical Advisor to seek opportunities to strategically inform the NDOHs priorities using available data.Successful candidates should be fast learners and strategic thinkers who are both willing to take on routine tasks such as data entry and be capable of engaging in high-level strategic discussions with a multi-cultural, multidisciplinary set of actors. The candidate must be able to work independently. Candidates must also be able to work with managers who are often off-site or working remotely, as such be comfort with Skype and other forms of electronic communication and be able to efficiently collaborate with dispersed teams. CHAI places great value on the resourcefulness, tenacity, patience, humility, and high ethical standards of its staff. Applicants should be open to up to 30% travel.

    He/she Will

    Specific key responsibilities will include but are not limited to, the following:

    • Responsible for monitoring HIV, ART and TB program performance across public and private sectors, and against targets (where available)
    • Assist with the strengthening the M&E system in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Assisting to update SOPs when and as necessary
    • Support the processing, collection, analysis and presentation of data on national program performance and efficiency
    • Utilize analytics to monitor performance and highlight gaps to support NDOH M&E, TB and HIV programs work collaboratively within the team to address the gaps
    • Have the required skills to develop a database to monitor program performance and produce standard analytics
    • Have the ability to navigate complex government processes and favorably influence decision-making in a professional and collaborative manner
    • Support in the preparation of strategic documents to inform NDOH interventions
    • Provide support so that the DoH can identify funding gaps and access additional resources
    • Ensure that annual work plan, and all other quarterly and routine reports are produced and delivered on time
    • Perform other tasks as necessary
    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
    • A minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in a public sector setting with increasing levels of responsibility and experience;
    • Strong analytic skills and technical proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint (analytical skills and proficiency levels will be tested during recruitment process);
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, be effective in high-pressure situations and adapt to fast-paced and changing environments with a strong commitment to excellence, both internally and externally, and with limited-structural support;
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects and solve challenging problems with limited structural or operational support;
    • Strategically minded, able to think creatively around long-term program objectives and the detailed steps necessary to achieve these goals;
    • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills;
    • Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills;
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently and flexibly with a strong commitment to excellence and limited supervision
