Job Description

Job Purpose

To define, give guidance and monitor data management processes for maintaining data integrity and improving data quality across the enterprise.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma (business management/ business information systems/ computer science or relevant)
• Certified Data Management Professional (optional)

Minimum Experience Level

• 1 - 3 years work experience in Data Analysis

Job Responsibilities

 Data Governance:

• Define and develop data quality standards, processes, guidelines and procedures
• Monitor adherence to defined data quality standards, processes and procedures

 Data Quality Management:

• Provide guidance and oversight to the business on how to assess data quality
• Provide guidance and oversight to the business on what tools to use for assessing data quality
• Provide guidance and oversight to the business on data quality root cause analysis
• Provide guidance and oversight to the business on formulating remediation plans

 Data Quality Reporting

• Provide the business with data quality reporting requirements
• Consolidate and report on enterprise data quality
• Assess, prioritise and monitor enterprise data quality issues

 Data Quality Portfolio Management

• Assess, prioritise and track progress on data quality initiatives

 Data Quality Platform Provisioning:

• Provide business requirements to the technology enablement centre of excellence for data quality tools development and/or procurement
• Conduct testing on data quality tools against the business requirements

 Data Quality Awareness:

• Communicate and train the business on data quality management processes, standards and procedures

Skills and/or knowledge:

• Data governance
• Data analysis
• Data remediation
• Understanding of the banking industry
• Understanding of the DMBoK
• Understanding of data related legislation in the banking industry e.g. BCBS 239, POPI, FICA, AML etc.
