Senior Networking Devops at XON

Job description

This is a highly technical role, providing architectural, design and implementation consultancy support for our Service Provider customers focusing on F5 and Procera like technologies but including supporting technologies. You will be required to develop and maintain expertise on SP Network Architectures and solutions, e.g. Load balancing, Caching, DPI, NFV.

• Job may be performed on-site at a customer facility or data Center, or in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table
• Duties require the ability to travel up to 50% via automobile and airplane, and may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
• 5+ years related experience working with relevant products, network, security and/or web technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot web load balancing / DPI/ Caching through use of tools such as Wireshark, TCPdumps, HTTP Watch, etc. is a plus
• Experience with interaction between network and other technologies that include Linux OS, firewalls, Oracle, NFS, and virtualisation pools
• Experience in routing protocols like (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VRRP, IP, HSRP, etc. protocols) Experience with layer-2, layer-3, and/or layer-4 network protocols and technologies, TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, NFSv4.x, SMB
• Basic UNIX shell scripting skills (required for configuration and monitoring activities

Education and Experience:

• Degree or equivalent work experience or Diploma in IT Added advantages
• Relevant certification qualifications will be an advantage
• Related networking certifications/experience (F5,Cisco, Juniper, Linux etc)
• Thorough understanding of routing and switching
• Working knowledge of Applications

Additionally, you will have effective consultancy, planning & communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects and manage customers appropriately. You will ideally be educated to degree level, and although training can be provided, a strong knowledge of DPI, Load balancing and Caching products is desirable.
