Trafalgar Johannesburg branches requires an exceptional individual for our Sectional Title division. It is essential that candidates have previous Debt Collections experience.

The primary focus of the Debt Collector is to collect outstanding rental or levies effectively, applying the defined debt collection procedure in a consistent manner, with a particular emphasis on consistently reducing month end arrears %.

Requirements:

• Matriculation
• Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word &Excel)
• Prior experience as a debt collector essential
• Accounting knowledge essential
• Understanding of the Debt Collections Act and procedures an added advantage.

Job Description:

• Collections of overdue levies
• Addressing client queries
• Allocating payments
• Allocating payments from the unallocated list
• Preparation of financial journals
• Reconciliation of levy accounts
• Checking of monthly statements
• Printing and posting of Reminder, Final Notice and Intention Summons
• Sending out monthly letters
• Handing over of clients to attorneys for legal action
• Communicating closely with the Portfolio Managers in addressing queries and providing statistics as and when required.

Required Skills:

• Have good inter-personal and communicating skills
• A good understanding of the debt collections principles
• An accounting background – an ability to work with figures
• Understand the portals of Unibase in a short period of time
• To be a team player, is of vital importance
