    (320) Event Officer - ExMan

    Brief description

    • The main purpose of this position is to coordinate and execute South African Reserve Bank (SARB) events in line with policies, best practices, protocols, norms and standards.

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Contribute to the planning, prioritisation and organisation of SARB events.
    • Provide guidance, advice and recommendations relating to events planning to client departments.
    • Deliver high-quality, professional events through expeditious planning and execution. 
    • Liaise with stakeholders to establish the purpose, scope and expected outcome of all events, campaigns and visits. 
    • Conduct site visits and recommend venues for events.
    • Plan and coordinate all event logistics in line with checklists (i.e. venue set-up, invitee lists, invitations, catering, audio-visual, supplier deliveries, décor, talent bookings, etc.) and approved budgets. 
    • Develop and maintain a stakeholder database to source individuals and vendors easily and efficiently. 
    • Compile pre- and post-event evaluation insights.
    • Contribute to the improvement of processes and practices that pertain to event planning.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • a minimum of a Diploma at (NQF 6) in Events Management; Hospitality Management, Public Relations, Tourism or an equivalent qualification.

    Additional requirements include knowledge and skill in:

    • industry, organisational and business awareness;
    • quality assurance;
    • hospitality services planning;
    • hospitality services programming;
    • hospitality services legislation and governance, risk and compliance;
    • health and safety;
    • hospitality service delivery;
    • events management;
    • hospitality stock and inventory management; and
    • contract and supplier performance management.
