    Hygiene Improvement Manager

    Job Description

    Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in Supply Chain Excellence, Quality department, based at Adam Tas in Stellenbosch. The successful incumbent will report to the Group Quality Manager.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Develop and Drive Hygiene strategy as part of the Quality Excellence Strategy
    • Develop a hygiene culture that is actively driven across the Distell business
    • Develop new hygiene practices and standards for implementation
    • Lead hygiene monitoring and measurement site capability
    • Develop Group hygiene training material linked to hygiene learning pathways
    • Conduct hygiene "Train the Trainer" initiatives
    • Participate in high level problem solving
    • Lead hygiene audits
    • Drive Focused Improvement Initiatives
    • Lead CIP improvement, in line with Sustainable Development
    • Lead non-conformance reduction with regards to Micro related issues
    • Develop and drive GMP across business
    • Interrogate cleaning contracts and SLA’s to provide new contractor management standards
    • Support FSSC22000 Implementation

    The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

    • Degree – BSc. Microbiology/ Btech. Food Technology/Biotechnology – MSc. Microbiology, Food Technology or Biotechnology would be an advantage
    • Experience as part of an executive leadership team
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the microbiological field in an analytical role.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the microbiological field in a senior leadership role. (8 - 10 years combined experience)
    • Proven project management capability
    • Strong Process engineering working knowledge especially related to CIP and Sustainable Development
    • Aseptic packaging knowledge
    • Superior problem solving skills
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • Auditor experience
    • Experience in writing procedures, work instructions etc.
    • Strong knowledge of water systems for site
    • Experience in an alcohol/beverage company with multi-site experience will be a definitely advantage.
