Oracle Systems Analyst at Tiger Brands

Job description

• Assist the business analysts in the development of new business processes and assist with the writing of customisations to enable these processes to work
• To develop the interfaces required to integrate Tiger ERP’s to Customers and Suppliers via EDI, B2B and other web services
• To investigate new integration and backend software and maintain a reliable and smooth running operations environment
• To also collaborate with the DBA’s in keeping the systems running optimally

Without this position little or no development of new project, reports or system enhancement will occur, and operations environment will not be maintained as necessary.

Key outputs of your role will be:

• Understand Tiger Brands business requirements both current and new
• Compile technical and design specifications
• Develop system and report enhancements, and customised systems
• Import data and conduct data fixes where required
• Liaise with Business Analysts and Database Administrators in regard to the business technical requirements
• Perform system tests internally and with users
• Participate in project team
• Prepared detailed project plan in conjunction with the business
• Participate in the design, evaluation, programming and development of new projects
• Keep abreast of application and system development tools, skills and leading practice
• Develop and maintain network with technology partners
• Prepare comprehensive technical design specification documents in compliance with IT governance
• Provide regular feedback to business analysts and data base administrators on milestones reached or problems encountered
• Research best solutions
• Resolve support queries within SLA
• Conduct maintenance development to solve problems and handle changes within the system
• Recognise patterns in problems and suggest solutions
• Manage flow of requests to ensure success
• Regular review of request log and feedback to users, business analysts and database administrators
• Provide IT operations support
• Build effective working relations with colleagues in different functions (i.e. lead  systems analysts, business analysts, database administrators, project managers and with business users)
• Develop open and honest collaboration within the IT team and share ideas, knowledge and resources

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCES

Minimum Qualifications

• A recognised Information Technology degree i.e. Bsc. Computer Science, Bcom Informatics
• Oracle Certified Professional (not negotiable)
• Competent with Oracle Developer tools such as SQL, Forms, PLU, Reports, XML, Oracle OAF framework and Java

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years business/systems analysis experience
