Job description
Don't be office bound! As a highly reputable financial services provider, our client is leveraging a long standing history to launch a fairly new product in micro-lending. Aimed at assisting small businesses, individuals and entrepreneurs in securing short term finance, they are looking to grow a retail network which can make this service available at grass roots level. They aim to open a considerable amount of new branches in rural or less affluent areas of South Africa. To assist in achieving this, they are looking to appoint a recently admitted attorney to source new sites and negotiate lease terms with landlords or property developers across the country. This will entail not only consistent communication with property funds and brokers, but also significant travel to all sites to ensure that the premises are fit for purpose, well positioned and as described in documentation. To fit into this small but busy team, you will be a pro-active individual with strong negotiation skills, who will mitigate the company's risk in all respects of leases signed. But this is not about sitting behind a desk signing leases - its about finding appropriate new sites for the business, convincing landlords to lease them to you, and then ensuring the best possible lease terms for the tenant. Apply if you are happy to travel regularly, have your own car and are an admitted attorney.
