    Assistant Brand Manager

    Job description

    Our client, a leading brand in the motor industry, is seeking an individual to execute various marketing tasks and projects as mutually aligned, whilst learning and developing the technical branding and marketing skills to at some point be considered for brand manager roles. In addition, with the guidance of the SBM, give support in marketing matters such as brand positioning, competitor intelligence, the effects of pricing, target marketing, creating compelling communications, as well as adopting optimal media plans to meet the brand’s objectives across all channels.

    The successful individual will be involved in the following key areas:

    • Analyse industry trends and brand volume against targets.
    • Execute the planned brand programs and communication platforms as highlighted in the annual brand plan, including the advertising execution, media plan creation and key stakeholder communication.
    • Brand experiences in line with the brand positioning and strategy, always looking for the most innovative solutions.
    • Execute an optimal brand advertising program reaching the ideal target audience per model as the brand and model strategy
    • Under the leadership of the SBM develop the discipline of writing the appropriate inspirational briefs for the various agency partners to ascertain the delivery of marketing campaigns on time.
    • Assist the SBM in managing the marketing budget.
    • Assist the SBM in ensuring that the various reporting to key stakeholders are duly carried out at the pre-determined intervals.
    • Work collaboratively with the other pillars of the marketing team to ensure consistency of brand message and quality of execution.

    The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

    • Minimum 3 - 7 years in a marketing or advertising environment
    • Degree in marketing or equivalent business degree
    • Management experience would be an advantage
    • A positive individual with an entrepreneurial mind-set, a genuine love for marketing and branding as well as a hunger to learn.
    • An appreciation for SA’s consumer landscape, and the media consequences for the brand.
    • A demonstrable history and experience in the briefing, development and execution of new advertising platforms and campaigns from start to finish
    • Strong analytical and numerical thinking
    • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
    • A strong planning ability, discipline and rigour in meeting deadlines
    • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and collaborative environment
    • Basic financial acumen, Budget-management skills and proficiency
