Inventory Controller at Osborn Engineered Products SA (Pty) Ltd

Job Description

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will have the following key responsibility areas:

• Maintaining the A, B,C analysis of stocks according to slow, medium, and fast turnover times.
• Setting stock re order levels for all inventory according to consumption trends, replacement lead times, and sales forecasts.
• Interpreting and monitoring the accuracy of reports from the MRP software and adjusting stock re order levels as necessary
• Managing and controlling planned stock takes, continuous stock counting, and inventory accuracy checks.
• Implementing improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory, prevent overstocking, and minimize costs
• Disposing of obsolete / redundant stock with authorization from the Supply Chain Manager.
• Ensuring that sales order intake procedures relevant to stock control department are concluded comprehensively and with accuracy
• Producing daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
• Writing and maintaining accurate written procedures for all main inventory control processes and functions.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have a tertiary qualification in materials or supply chain management plus several years’ experience of stock control in an engineering concern. A working knowledge of the Inventory Control modules of ERP systems is essential.
