Introduction

Key Role

We are actively seeking an individual who can join the team and perform draughting functions using computer aided draughting (CAD) for engineering services (mechanical, industrial and process) applicable to WSP local and international standards, under the supervision of a Line Manager & relevant Project Engineer.

You will use Auto CAD, REVIT and AutoCAD Plant 3D to detail mechanical systems from rough or general design drawings; insert details, complete equipment schedules and other information necessary to make detailed drawings clear and complete. Attention to detail is critical, and a level of understanding of mechanical piping components and systems will be an advantage

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION THUS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Work with a team of engineers on multi-disciplinary engineering projects
• Design and drafting of CAD drawings for mechanical engineering services to standards
• Co-ordination of engineering services
• Manipulate/translate various digital file formats in order to create useable CAD/Revit drawings
• Working with client FTP sites to download CAD drawings and Revit models together with project deliverable uploads
• Will work closely with Project Manager and Lead Revit/CAD specialist to review and meet project goals
• Assist in Revit development and Plant 3D
• Acquiring models and information from suppliers and ensuring the 3D components comply with the technical engineering specifications.
• Obtain information of a more general nature from suppliers and perform introductory engineering tasks such as pump selections and obtaining quotations.
• Actively keep abreast of current trends in CAD / Revit developments.
• Some site visits and investigation
• Compliance with WSP’s project delivery processes.

Qualifications And Experience Required

• National Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a CAD office on AutoCAD and Revit up to latest version
• Experience in drafting of mechanical piping services

• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
• Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
• Must have good follow through and self-implemented Quality Control measures
• Proficiency in Navisworks a plus
• Ability and ambitious for continuous improvement
