Project Lead: Transportation and Roads at AECOM

Job Summary Initially t he main purpose of this role is to oversee a major, high profile, national roads project with an approximate value of R1 Billion.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Project management and take a lead role on major projects.
• Preparation of road designs, bills of quantities, contract documentation and tender evaluation, administration of construction contracts and ad-hoc site supervision.
• Project execution and ensure that projects are undertaken to a quality management system, to high technical standards, within budget and programme.
• Financial management, administration and control of projects.
• Design oversight, support and management to the project team.
• Staff development and management.
• Business development – support or lead tender pursuits and/or proposals for roads projects.
• Any other work, related to projects in the department, as directed by the Team Leader.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in a Consulting Engineering environment, specialising in the Transportation sector.
• Design experience
• Demonstrate suitable experience on SANRAL projects in a Project Lead role.
• Relevant Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering will be advantageous.

• Although projects will predominantly be in South Africa, the candidate will need to demonstrate a willingness to undertake projects within Africa, while being based in the Centurion office.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa
