    Senior Network Engineer: Security

    Job description

    • To perform security operations center (SOC) work such as; review security events/incidents, identify, validate and remove false positives, perform duplicate check verifications, perform data enrichment activities, action legitimate security events, perform technical root cause analysis, ensure correct categorization of security incidents.
    • Work closely with other SOC engineers and SOC team as well as CSIRT teams in taking action on security incidents.
    • Cross train other security specialists, perform rule tuning, rule development, conduct business impact assessments, manage and guide priorities and continually improve SOC processes.
    • Continually improve own security skills.
    • Understand the change in the BCX service model to a services on demand model The need to be aware of and adhere to SLA / OLA requirements

    Desired Skills and Experience

    EDUCATION

    • Grade 12, NQF Level 4, plus relevant diploma, NQF Level 5
    • Certification in various Security products and operations

    EXPERIENCE
    5 - 8 years in an IT environment of which at least four years in a Security environmentOPERATIONAL

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Cellular phone,
    • Driver's license,
    • Motor vehicle.
    • It is the employee's responsibility to Effectively Manage Telephonic Communication by complying with SLA and support requirements.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Good analytical and analysis abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently within a security operations centre environment.
    • Experience with working within a structured process, procedures and work instruction environments.
    • Experience with working with cross-functional teams of varied skill levels and diversity.
    • Knowledge of ITIL Principles; Judgement Quality Assurance and Management.
    • Time And Priority Management.
