Production Manager at LED lighting SA

Job description

LED Lighting SA is looking for an experienced manufacturing operations/production manager to lead manufacturing and supply chain operations at our Cape Town facility. The role will include day-to-day leadership and management of purchasing, stores, production management and QC. The role requires directing and coordinating activities consistent with established organizational goals, objectives, and policies.

• Will need to guide the process of continuous improvement across all functions of the organization to achieve the highest levels of quality and competitiveness. Lead lean initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining an ISO 9001 environment and suggest and bring about improvements that benefit the business, consistent with our quality objectives
• Directly or indirectly provide formal and informal training and coaching to subordinates and other employees. The company has an ethic of training first, discipline second.
• Ability to communicate at all levels within the company to successfully facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and "changing" entrepreneurial work environment. Attendance of weekly meeting with top management
• Ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with all employees.
• Good problem solving, decision-making, time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with a high technology product
• Proficient with ERP/MRP/MPS systems
• Implements improved processes and management methods to generate higher workflow optimization.
• A high energy, proactive approach to managing the facility
• Relevant tertiary qualification
