    Job Purpose

    Provide strategic and operational Human Resources leadership to the Amcor Flexibles South Africa business ensuring rigour and follow up while executing HR processes. Shape the current and future organization structure, by contributing in a collaborative and commercially focused manner. Ensure the right employees are positioned in the right roles, to take the business forward in line with EMEA growth plan. Act as Project Leader on projects as determined concerning Talent and Organisational Development, Org. Design, Change Management.

    Job Dimensions & Scope

    Ownership of HR related matters for the Amcor Flexibles South Africa business supporting 4 plants across South Africa and managing directly 4 HR Managers, who will report solid line to this role (2 plant HMRs, C&B Manager, T&D Manager). Be an active member of the Management Team of the Amcor Flexibles South Africa business.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Be and act as Role Model for all HR processes as well as support driving the values within the organization
    • Provide strong leadership to the Business Management and leadership team, challenging, coaching and ensuring a high standard of HR service is provided
    • Build strong business relationships with the Plant Management Teams, driving employee engagement and key appointments at Plant level
    • Talent Management: focusing on developing talent and acquiring strong talent to ensure the ongoing success of Amcor
    • Provide strong Change Management and Organisational effectiveness leadership
    • Continually evaluate and improve the efficiency, cost effectiveness and cohesiveness of the wider Amcor Business in collaboration with and leveraging the services of the central AFEMEA HR COEs (talent, learning, C&B, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations)
    • Ensure that local HR teams act in alignment with applicable labour and social law, AFEMEA strategy, policies and standards and respond adequately to their functional leads
    • Ensure that Performance & Development management cycle is effectively managed for all employees and that personal objectives are set and measured in a consistent manner using the existing systems and tools to drive this and continue to further improve our overall approach
    • Implement the Amcor Talent Management processes across all South African business, ensure those are aligned with Business Group approach, ensuring actions are identified and followed up
    • Identify training and development needs and implement programmes and activities to develop employees to achieve business objectives
    • Ensure succession plans are in place for all key roles in the BU
    • Manage HR Budget and Headcount accordingly
    • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions and opportunities for promotion
    • Lead internal communication for the BU, working closely together with the AFEMEA Communications team
    • Actively participate in the development and improvement of Amcor/AFEMEA wide HR Tools and best practice sharing
    • Support and facilitate necessary change and the development of the organisation, by ensuring clear, timely communication, and clarity of roles and responsibilities

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Formal Qualifications and Experience

    • Broad and extensive knowledge of HR aspects
    • Significant experience of working in HR, within a large and fast paced commercial, matrix, environment
    • Strong track record of operating within the FMCG or Manufacturing sector
    • Proven leadership experience Track record of personal development within HR
    • Coaching and consulting experience
    • Demonstrated ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
    • Proven people management skills

    • Strong leader with the ability to lead the transfer of a business vision into the right HR plans and actions
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders at all levels in the organization
    • Strong presentation and negotiations skills

    • Ability to simplify complex issues and willing to think outside the obvious solutions
    • Ability to work in a complex, multi-cultural environment
    • Able to coordinate and work with a virtual dispersed team
    • Having had experience working with HR COE’s
    • English fluent (spoken & written)
