Job Purpose:

To provide comprehensive Financial Planning education to members of our corporate clients’ retirement funds. The successful candidate will need to work hand in hand with C&A and FPC to source and co-ordinate educational presentations to members.

Main activities:

• Do financial educational and fund specific presentations to members of our corporate client funds
• Liaise and source opportunities with C&A consultants, as well as FPC consultants, to educate members on their corporate funds
• Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with trustees and HR personnel of corporate clients
• Identify the clients educational needs, i.e. in terms of recommended topic
• Co-ordinate presentations nationally with C&A, ME colleagues and directly with corporate clients
• Fully understand the material being presented
• Update presentation material as needed, and customize for clients as appropriate
• Understand and have knowledge of market offerings and changes to products and fees
• Provide education to members via group presentations, telephone conferencing, radio or satellite broadcasting.
• Continually educate him-/herself to keep abreast of legal and technical industry changes
• Assist members to register on AFOnline
• Travel to clients (in and out of town travel) and make own travel bookings
• Do own admin; eg, calendar bookings, invoicing, presentation schedules, attendance registers, travle claims etc.

Skills required for this position:

• Matric
• Completed or studying towards CFP qualification
• Industry related qualification, i.e. FAIS requirements – advantage
• Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, especially Powerpoint and Excel

Experience and Background:

• Experience, knowledge and understanding of the Financial Services industry, financial planning arena, financial investment markets, life assurance products and basic economic principles (minimum 2 years)

• Investments, investment products, asset classes and investment vehicles
• Linked products
• Voluntary savings vehicles
• Unit Trusts / Multi Manager Funds
• Life policies, Endowments, Disability, Dread disease, etc
• Estate Planning / Wills / Trusts
• Tax

• Excellent command for English. African language and Afrikaans will be an additional advantage

Other considerations:

• Must have a drivers license and own vehicle
• Must be willing to travel
• Situated in Cape Town office but must be willing to work between AF offices in the major centres
