Job description

A VERY cool Multinational client of mine in the Application Solution space are currently seeking experienced and talented Java Developers to join on a permanent basis (Although they will consider contractors as well). This role will be based in Midrand.

Job description:

• Writing code which meets the specified functional and non-functional requirements
• Writing and running unit tests which cover and test the above code
• Writing code to fix defects or refactor as instructed by Senior Members in the team
• Supporting deployment of application to production environment as per build/resource schedule (typically after hours and on-site).
• Following company and/or project standards defined by the Architect forum
• Creating Technical Design Documents and process documentation e.g. SDLC
• Inputting into Functional Design Document.
• Building and deploying application to dev/QA/staging environments.
• Providing input into refactoring processes where necessary and cleaning code as and when needed
• Fixing pre-release defects (code in QA) where necessary
• Troubleshooting problems in the QA and Production environments as necessary
• Providing post-production operational support which includes problem investigation and resolution as per the site/project support schedule and process.

Qualifications and experience:

• BSc/BEng / Computer Science or equivalent degree
• Minimum of 4 years experience in the following technolgoies:
• JEE
• Spring
• Spring Boot
• JBoss
• Some analysis experience – requirement, refinement, use-case creation
• Solid Design experience – UML 1.1 or 2.0
• Experience using a defect management system such as JIRA, BugZilla
• Solid experience using a version control system such as SVN, ClearCase, Git
