    Sales Engineer

    Job description

    JOB PURPOSE

    To strengthen our position as market leader of Mining products

    JOB SCOPE

    This position fills a key role in our strategy to grow our product range of Mining in South Africa, Africa and Globally. You will be responsible to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of marketing and sales for our Mining product range. In addition you will have certain geographical territory where you will be responsible to create a business plan to grow the Mining business. Furthermore, you will be working with optimizing our product assortment and its profitability. R&D is a focused area and you will help drive and participate in these projects.

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate should have a University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field and solid experience in sales and marketing. Experience in the drilling market is a definite asset.

    Experience

    • Strong knowledge in areas related to mining, civil engineering, exploration or other drilling applications.
    • Experience sales or technical support in mining/drilling not less than three years.
    • Working in different countries and cultures is an advantage but not a requirement.
    • Experience in presentations to different audiences.

    Skills And Competencies

    • Sound technical knowledge is required with knowledge of features of all existing drilling methods an added advantage.
    • Aptitude to work with people in a supportive service minded "sales" environment.
    • Our working language is English. Knowledge of local languages in the region will be plus especially Afrikaans.
    • Ability to convince people by logical reasoning, technical backup and good salesmanship
    • Self starter who can also convey a positive attitude and generate enthusiasm in others.
    • Detailed technical report writing is a requirement.
    • Excellent communication skills including a preparedness to train others.
    • Leadership skills and a dynamic person willing to make an international career.
    • Good time management skills
    • Excellent administration skills, Attention to detail, Team player,Organised,Accurate
    • Computer literate ( MS Office) and Computer skills in compiling and analyzing sales and product data.

    GENERAL

    • You must be prepared to travel regularly throughout the year.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in related Technical, Commercial field or equivalent.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical capacity within an Offshore, automated or industrial enviorment with an additional minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role with customer relationship management and employee development experience. Total minimum experience 8 years.
    • Good technical knowledge relating to PLC software and hardware, HMIs, closed loop control systems, motor control and electrical power systems
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings/schematics.
    • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Outlook)
