POSITION SYNOPSIS:

Accountable to manage and lead a team to deliver safe, secure and cost effective warehousing and inventory planning services to meet operational needs for spares and consumables while balancing the optimum use of working capital. Provides leadership support to operations to enable supply services from the region and compliance to standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in supply chain management or relevant degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in warehousing or inventory management or logistics, of which 2 year must have been in a managerial position;
• Broad knowledge of supply chain management is essential;
• Relevant Knowledge and experience in SAP is advantageous.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provides safe and secure warehousing services and facility for the opencast warehouse;
• Ensure compliance to policies and procedures for the warehouse and inventory planning function;
• Manages the on-time provision of materials for planned and scheduled work to requirement dates through picking, consolidating, packing and collection or delivery to unloading points;
• Manages inventory for Bulk materials and fuel;
• Manages the collection and dispatch of materials to suppliers for repair, overhaul, return or disposal of redundant items in line with approved framework;
• Engages with Maintenance and Production to ensure availability of materials for planned and scheduled work;
• Leads the implementation and monitors effectiveness of Inventory Management improvement initiatives with support from Inventory specialist;
• Collaborates with the Category Management and Purchasing peers to resolve supplier non-performance;
• Supports the regional supply team to drive consistent expectations, understanding and application of Supply processes across the operation to enable compliance with standards requirements;
• Supports Sub-Function Lead to provide guidance to Senior Leadership at the operations on Supply risk management and relevant mitigating actions.
