Maintenance Coordinator at Chevron

Job description

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Maintenance Systems
• Executes the PPM programme with particular emphasis on high speed packaging machinery.
• Ensures that maintenance procedures are carried out to departmental, corporate and legal standards
• Take required measures to reduce maintenance-related failures to zero.
• Ensures that drawings and associated literature required for preventative and corrective maintenance is readily available.
• Calibrates critical equipment regularly, as per calibration schedule.
• Provides the necessary diagnostic expertise in breakdown incidents to ensure minimum downtime.
• Assists with conducting “root cause analyses” and implements measures to prevent re-occurrence.
• Plant Installation Projects
• Carries out minor plant installation and modification projects.
• Assists in the provision and updating of associated documentation.
• Retains copies of associated documentation.
• Administration and Reporting
• Submission of accurate and timeous reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as required:
• Number and nature of breakdowns, remedial action taken and associated plant downtime
• Job requests executed
• PPM tasks completed
• Work done
• Spares used and re-ordered
• Progress of in-plant minor installations and modification projects
• Housekeeping
• Safety defects identified and associated action taken
• Training required or completed
• Ad hoc reports as required
• Ensuring that all personnel reporting to them are fully aware of their duties and standards expected and the performance thereof.
• Machinery and Associated Equipment
• Ensures compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
• Ensures compliance with plant Standing Orders.
• Ensures that machinery is maintained and operated in a safe manner.
• Ensures that Plant and equipment comply with corporate standards.
• Health Environment and Safety
• Ensuring that potential hazards associated with the work environment are identified and steps are taken to minimise or eradicate them.
• Ensuring that all personnel under his direct control (Chevron and contractors) are fully aware and adopt safe work practices and procedures at all times thereby operating an incident free operation.
• Housekeeping
• Ensuring that his designated area is always clean, clear and orderly.
• Effectively action reported equipment maloperation and repairs / replacement.

Required Qualifications

• Matric Qualification
• Minimum of 3-year work experience in a petroleum industry
• Attentive to details
