Job Overview

Responsible for all technical engineering, installation, commissioning and trouble-shooting activities regarding service of the local Mercedes-Benz Energy team in South Africa in compliance to the Company's Integrity & Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy & S.H.E. requirements and to perform delegated S.H.E. tasks and duties & to inform superior about deviations.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform the Service Engineer role: Coordinate service tasks including creation of working plans for own and partner personnel.
• Monitor installation and service work and trouble shoot customer installations.
• Create local service concepts and content specific for the local market.
• Enable local service team and service teams of industry partners as well as train own and partners’ service personnel.
• Support service technicians of local team and industry partners.
• Identify promising customer applications and drive realization together with local and German teams.
• Install, set-up, test show-case equipment in own lab.
• Set up virtual teams with headquarter personnel in Germany if required. Report regularly to Mercedes-Benz Energy Germany.
• Present and show-case equipment to interested parties.
• Ensure that all customer interaction is properly documented.

Experience

• 3 - 5 years industry experience
• Ideally solid experience with established industry players in the field of stationary battery storage and equipment installation/commissioning and service

Education

• Matric plus 3 year (or relevant 3-year qualification) or equivalent
• Engineering qualification an advantage
