Bosch Projects, a level 2 BBBEE certified company and a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in 1961, has an opportunity for a Lead Civil Engineer / Technologist. This position will be based in the Durban office and reporting directly to the Developments and Roads Divisional Manager.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing entire projects and project teams from inception to completion, including Client interface
• Perform engineering functions efficiently in support of the project planning and / or design team
• Mentoring and motivating project teams
• Developing and maintaining strong Client relationships
• Assisting with development and implementation of structured marketing plans
• Develop and agree budgets / targets with Divisional Manager / Regional Director
• Ensure compliance with Bosch Project’s ISO 9001/2008 QMS System
• Ensure that Quality Standards are achieved and maintained.

The ideal Candidate should:

• Have a BSc Civil Engineering / BEng Civil Engineering or a B.Tech qualification
• Be registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA
• Have a minimum of 10 years’ post qualification experience of which 5 years must have been spent independently implementing and managing projects from start to finish
• Have technical and design competence in the developments field, with a good general knowledge of other engineering disciplines such as earthworks, roads and storm water (a good general knowledge of environmental and town planning approval processes would be advantageous)
• Have a good technical and design understanding of the Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines and how these interface with development type projects. Have significant experience in contract administration and management of construction monitoring teams
• Have proven leadership ability especially within an engineering consulting environment
• Be experienced in the use of modelling software (i.e. earthworks, pipelines, hydraulic analysis, CAD, etc). Experience in Civil 3D package preferable.
• Be capable of functioning independently and as part of a project team
• Be prepared to travel within and outside RSA borders
