    About The Department

    Novo Nordisk is looking for an experienced Clinical Research Associate to join a dynamic team of researchers who are committed to delivering clinical results of an exceptionally high standard, thereby contributing to the development of innovative medicines.

    As a Clinical Research Associate, you will be the primary point of contact between site staff and Novo Nordisk and act as an ambassador for the company. The Clinical Research Associate thereby delivers results that have a direct impact on the successful completion of the Clinical programme.

    The base location of this Clinical Research Associate will be the Gauteng Region of the country however the incumbent will be required to travel nationally as well as internationally and will report directly to the Clinical Project Manager in South Africa.

    The position

    As a Clinical Research Associate you will be responsible for taking leadership of site management in the selection and initiation of sites as well as conduction and closing activities of the appointed studies in compliance with local regulations, ICH - GCP, Novo Nordisk Procedures and protocol requirements to ensure data quality and study subject protection.

    Key responsibilities include management of Clinical Trial Projects, compliance with all trial specific management tools, monitoring the cost of assigned clinical trials and co-ordinating end of trial activities including query resolution, site closure and collection of documentation required for clinical trial reports. You will further be responsible for driving continuous improvement in projects.

    You will demonstrate good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders (investigators and site coordinators) for the successful implementation of your main deliverables

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have as a minimum a completed university degree in Science or a B.Pharm degree. You must have as a minimum 2 years previous work experience in Clinical Research. Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point);

    Important skills to work in this position are: Strong analytical skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; Demonstrate Cross functional Collaboration and Team Work; Good Decision making and problem solving ability; demonstrate agility in ways of working, be self-motivated, be patient centric and have a quality mindset as well as being results oriented; Great communication (verbal and written), Good planning and organizational skills, project management skills and proven excellence in conduct of clinical trial activities from monitoring to management of multinational trials.
