IT Risk Specialist at Edge Consulting South Africa

Job description

A contract opportunity for a seasoned Risk Specialist with at least 5 years' expeirence in IT risk managment including IT auditing, risk and compliance.

The responsibilities for the position includes:

• Plan and perform IT risk assessments in the Security Services, Application Services, Technology Services, Quality Assurance
• Identify and assess business and technological risks and provide advice to management regarding the mitigation of these risks and the implementation there of.
• Identify issues in Policies, Procedures and Controls and write remediation plans
• Develop and maintain strong advisory documentation as well as implementation there off.
• Requires 5-7 years in Information Technology risk management
• Requires in-depth skills in and understanding of standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001(Required or advantageous) – other would be advantageous, ISO9001, NIST, COBIT, FFIEC, ITIL and technology best practices
• Understanding of standards, laws and regulations from entities such as SEC, CFTC, CYBER SFC - advantageous
• Experience with internal controls, risk assessment strategies, audit techniques, and project management
• Understanding of the risks associated with current and emerging technologies and the standards and controls being developed to mitigate those risks
• Proven analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Diligent, strong initiative, a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a desire to accomplish goals
• Strong team player who works well with leaders and peers alike with a desire to contribute positive change
