Job description

The Corporate & Investment Bank Technology team in South Africa provides technology solutions and support for the local Currency and Emerging Markets trading, Equities Trading, Treasury/CIO Trading, Treasury Services and the Sales activities in the branch. Provide technology solutions and support for other business areas in the branch including Operations, Finance, Regulatory and Exchange Control.

The team is responsible for Plan (Project Management/Business Analysis), Build (Application Development) and Production Management/Support for the various lines of business we support in the branch. The team has full responsibility for local branch applications and is accountable for Core/Global application instances implemented in the branch. The team support a number of local vendor applications and engages regularly with local vendors, Regulators and the local Equities / Bond exchange.

The successful candidate of the role of Senior Application Analyst / Developer will have strong Application Design and Technical Programming skills. Financial Services Knowledge also will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, implement new Application functionality according to business requirements and maintaining current applications
• The ideal candidate must be experienced in application development with the primary web technologies
• Project Management and stakeholder management
• Sharing of code and knowledge within a team environment and global teams (prescriptive guidance, known patterns).
• Drive JP Morgan System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolset adoption
• Application security from project inception
• Adhering to the firm’s IT Risk, Control and Cyber policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Microsoft .NET programming skills (C#.Net, Patterns and Practices, Unit Testing)
• Web development (ASP.Net, JavaScript, JQuery and related libraries, XML, XSD, HTML, XML over HTTP, REST Architecture)
• MS SQL 2008 (or higher) database development experience
• Object oriented programming and patterns experience
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) development experience
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) development experience
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools (advantageous)
• DevExpress
• Bachelor Degree in IT (Software Development / Engineering)
