Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for managing the execution platform which includes the sales trading and trading functions. Additionally, the individual will be co-head of the South African cash equities business. Execution services will entail providing institutional investor clients with trading services in the South African Equity markets. The Co-head of cash equities role incorporates driving the strategy in terms of clients and products from an execution perspective to ensure we maximize our client coverage, particularly on the international front. The role is based in Johannesburg and involves managing our global investor franchise by ensuring that all of the Bank's resources in terms of research product, market information and capital commitment are applied accurately and professionally at all times. The role will be reporting into the JP Morgan Head of EMEA Sales Trading in London.

Requirements

• Prior demonstrable experience in a similar role
• Strong relationship management experience with local and especially offshore clients
• Strong interest in and understanding of financial markets
• Individuals must be comfortable dealing at all levels of seniority within complex organizations
• Applicants must be Educated Degree level or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills coupled with strong trading systems expertise
• English speaker

Desirable Skills

• Existing experience managing the execution platform
• Deep knowledge of the SA public markets and corporate universe
