Job description

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market analysis/benchmarking to keep client’s awareness on International OSP materials evolution, propose suitable materials for client’s network evolution
• With the support of client’s Management, Create and drive the functions of the OSP Test LAB.
• Evaluate availability of materials with suppliers to best fit client’s deployment plan
• Update and maintain the standardized materials documentation including installation and operation procedures.
• Evaluate financial benefits of new standardized materials to reduce CAPEX and OPEX spending.
• Provide training and support to all regions to apply approved client’s materials and their guidelines.
• Screening / improving / updating client’s materials specifications and follow-up on new materials introduction.
• Analysis of Material Complaints from other parties: contractors, client, etc.
• Manufacturers SPOC for Type approvals.
• Definition of test-requirements for type approval evaluation.
• Technical evaluation of samples submitted for type approval (test-reports).
• Technical evaluation of 3rd party labs test reports.
• Review of documents submitted by manufacturers for type approval.
• Type Approval process management; payment control, administrative checking of samples (receiving right sample, right MIC, etc.).
• Generation of type approval evaluation reports and issuance/ withdrawal of Type Approval Certificates.
• Create and apply necessary processes and procedures to maintain and improve the work efficiency/performance and random check on delivered materials (audit).

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 15 + years’ experience in Telecom domain including 10 years in OSP Fiber Materials Management.
• Good knowledge of all aspects of the OSP network (Standards, Guidelines, procedures, technologies, equipment, tools...etc) for planning, design and implementation.
• Experience with an OSP Materials manufacturer in the technical field (R&D, product development, etc. is preferred).
• In depth knowledge of FTTx solutions and architecture, GPON as well as PtP.
• Experience with civil works for Fiber access networks.
• Formal training in project management and project control techniques and methodologies (PMI, PRINCE or similar) will be considered an advantage.
• International experience from a developed telecoms market and extraordinary technical writing and report writing skills.
• Advance level proficiency with MS Office Tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word), plus Visio and database tools.
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
