Job description

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Research and development, applied Chemistry (Fertilizer coatings).
• Literature surveys and information gathering.
• Investigation and development of new application processes and products.
• Keeping up with new research and attending conferences and other events.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Preparing technical reports and recommendations based upon research outcomes.
• Assisting with the scale up of processes and technology and hand over to technical and operations team.
• Working with other departments or specialist to design and implement new processes.
• Customer and sales support on technology / products application.
• Working closely with the production and sales team on process improvement and troubleshooting of current technology and current product development.
• Involved in processes interrogations to establish if design intent is achieved.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Matric.
• MSC and BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with a strong background in applied chemistry or process chemistry.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial production process and at least 3 years Research and Development experience.
• Computer literate – proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be prepared to travel locally and internationally.
