Job Purpose

Supports the Senior Finance Business Partner in managing the P&L for the South Africa Consumer business and provides financial business partnering support to the South Africa Sales team.

Scope

• To provide financial control, accounting, reporting, measurement and analytical service for the GSK South Africa Consumer Healthcare.
• To be responsible for supporting the sales and marketing teams with analysis, recommendations, data and all other day to day requirements with respect to sales.
• To ensure quality financial processes, systems and tools are introduced and maintained to support the business cross functions team as well as the South African Leadership team.
• To provide financial support to the monthly forecasting processes as well as the annual forecasting and budgeting processes.
• To provide financial control and monthly analysis of actual results vs budgets and forecasts.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Control of inputs for month end actuals that relate to Sales and Sales Gross to Net
• Manage gross to net ratio
• Review and analyse Just Enough to ensure gross to net in line with budget
• Track sales to forecast numbers
• Report and comment on month end sales
• Discussions on month end sales with sales team
• Manage monthly P&L against budget and forecasts
• Month end results
• Assist with discussions and understanding of opex variances to budget, forecast and LE
• Assist with calculation of monthly distribution costs
• Report and comment on month end commentary
• Develop and continuously improve month end reporting formats
• Prepare management accounting information
• Annual Budgeting, Forecasting and monthly forecasting
• Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process
• Assisting with the preparation and controlling of opex budgets for the Consumer division.
• Ensuring reasonableness of sales budgets
• Preparation of Finance decks for Budget and Forecast presentations
• Assistance in providing information for the Commercial deck for budget and Forecast presentations
• Preparation and control of the annual calenderisation process.
• Preparation, control and submission of monthly FC 70 (monthly forecasts)
• General business partnering
• Daily support and assistance to the commercial team
• Evaluate promotions and discounting including ROI analysis and monitoring
• Monitor performance of brands, consumption data
• Review gross to net by customer quarterly
• Prepare and evaluate pricing for commercial team
• Monitor levels of stock in trade
• Attend demand forecasting meeting with sales and marketing as well as other sales team meetings
• Support commercial projects in conjunction with the sales and marketing teams
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitors
• Ad-hoc support and preparation of information to support the Head of Finance and Senior Finance Business Partner
• Ad-hoc support and preparation of information to support the General Manager
• Ad-hoc support and preparation of information to support the Sales Director
• Running reports and extracting information from JDE (general ledger), Cognos.
• Provide information and assist with the internal and external audits.
• Support the head of finance with working capital management
• Input and involvement in new systems development and training of systems where necessary
• Ensure there are up to date SOPs/knowledge documents to support all systems and processes
• Review transfer pricing in line with IPT and transfer pricing policy
• Review and Release payments on Citibank
