Analyst Licencing (Global) at Anglo American

CONTEXT

The purpose of Global Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, communication, collaboration and knowledge management through the deployment, support and maintenance of enterprise technology, infrastructure, applications and mine technical systems.

PURPOSE

To ensure the development and maintenance of the software asset-life-cycle for Global IM software vendors used by Anglo American and De Beers IM to optimise the total cost of ownership and sustainability for Anglo American IM.

TYPICAL TASKS

• Engage and assist Global IM stakeholders in understanding their major global software contracts and controlling/ tracking costs and licence compliance
• Respond to internal and external software audits, providing management control reports assuring Global IM Management that software deployments match entitlements for major global software vendors
• Establish co-operative and pro-active working relationships with major software vendors
• Maintain and support software asset life-cycle; this includes compliance reconciliations, assuring current software releases are deployed
• Oversee the management of new and/or additional software licenses as software is deployed
• Execute the day to day software licensing activities and controls for global major vendors and serve as the primary point of contact for applicable software licensing queries and audit requests
• Produce management reporting on key Software Asset Management (SAM) metrics, licenses, compliance, maintenance and costs
• Ensure software license audit and quality control processes are maintained for process integrity purposes and drive the implementation of new controls where required
• Update the global risk register for software and ensure that mitigating actions match the severity of the risk
• Interact with IM stakeholders, third-party vendors and build relationships across the organisation
• Oversee and participate in project plan design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of the software licensing function

Requirements:

Role-specific knowledge:

• The specific IM field, controls and risk mitigation.
• It would be advantageous to have a qualification in a relevant field OR a proven track record of experience in a role and context of similar complexity
