    The Business Development Internship role- part of Meltwater's International Management Training Program- will help you build valuable business acumen, allowing you to develop very quickly in ways that few other positions offer, learning business by doing business. Historically, successful entry level programs have led to more advanced sales opportunities and even management opportunities within Meltwater upon early success, and this Business Development role is no different – we are looking for people who will be a long term asset to our company!

    The Role

    The Sales Development Internship role is both fun and rewarding. It not only focuses on teamwork and culture, but also, and most importantly, has a strong emphasis on business-to-business sales development in the news and social media industries.

    As part of the role, you will be speaking to a wide range of companies and organizations –from universities and local government departments, to high- tech, development stage science companies, to Fortune 500 companies. You will be responsible for reaching out to prospective Clients, doing an introductory needs analysis, consulting with Clients around their media coverage, and booking product demonstrations for our business development executives.

    You will be given all the necessary training and tools you will need to succeed in your role, and will be fully supported by the Cape Town team, to ensure that you are set up for success and that you earn valuable business experience.

    • Strong academic results
    • Sales experience (although not essential)
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Natural leadership qualities
    • International experience preferred (academic, personal or professional)
    • Ambitious internship history
