    Financial Manager

    Job description

    General Purpose of role:

    The Financial Manager is a corporate officer primarily responsible for managing the financial risks of the company. Also responsible for financial analysis, financial planning and record-keeping, as well as financial reporting on an operational and executive level.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for management of the financial and HR functions (team of 4).
    • Responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statements to be presented to shareholders at the annual general meeting.
    • Manage the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and information reports.
    • As a Public Officer of Company, be responsible for ensuring compliance with all acts and matters laid down by the Income Tax Act.
    • Ensure that procedures and systems are in place to act as checks and balances on the information.
    • Ensure compliance with Company and GAAP budgetary and reporting requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with Corporate Governance - King Report protocol.
    • Regularly assess strategies to changing stakeholder demands and redirect efforts as necessary.
    • Responsible for controlling any remuneration made to Directors, Shareholders and employees.
    • Create, coordinate and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting and conservation of assets.
    • Approve and direct changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems.
    • Approval of expenditure and position control documents, company budgets, salary reviews, ledger and account maintenance and data entry
    • Submission of budgets.
    • Manage preparation of the annual report.
    • Analyze cash flow, cost controls and expenses to guide business leaders.
    • Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.
    • Direct financial management to include developing financial and budget policies and procedures.
    • Risk Management.
    • Tax planning to minimize liability.
    • Maximize interest earned.

    Requirements:

    • 5-10 years’ experience in the finance field
    • Completed articles preferable
    • Relevant qualifications
    • MS Office
