Nursery Manager at Westfalia Fruit Estates

Reporting to the Nursery Manager the incumbent will be responsible to manage the avocado nursery in order to maximize profits for the Agribusiness. Support nursery orientated research in order to develop superior nursery techniques and to enter new markets. Assist in the management of Westfalia Technological Services intellectual property in certain markets (nationally & internationally), more specifically regarding the control & propagation of proprietary plant material.

Position Specifications

• B.Sc Agric or similar qualification

• Knowledge of avocado cultivation will be an advantage

• Sound knowledge of Nursery Management and techniques

• Understanding of contracts/patents and Plant Breeders’ rights

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Nursery Management and 1 year’s Business Skills experience in total 4 years’ experience

• Valid driver’s license and own transport

• Good English skills (written & spoken)
