    Grower and Channel Marketing Manager-Potatoes and Vegetables

    Job description

    Major Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Ensure the activation of the local go-to-market crop strategy to our customer and channel linked to Potatoes and Vegetables
    • Develop and implement approved Campaign Plans which include the Go To Market Plan for Potato and Vegetables.
    • Manage portfolio and design our GTM strategy and ensure efficient roll out to Customer and Channel.
    • Act as the key marketing contact for the Southern Africa Cluster (RSA and SAC), ensuring effective implementation of go-to-market strategy based on customer segmentation and the tactical marketing plan.
    • Identify market opportunities for customer engagement on a face-to-face level.
    • Generate customer insights (e.g., customer needs, journeys, buying behaviour, etc.) to support value propositions and find opportunities for ad-hoc marketing campaigns, cross selling and up selling.
    • Conduct ad-hoc customer surveys, Customer advisory focus groups and other market research as required to inform go-to-market decisions.
    • Optimise and utilise market research (CEC, BFAP, Potato SA, Vinpro, CRI etc.) into meaningful insights that can be activated through marketing and sales tactics (e.g. segmentations, campaigns).
    • Understand customers’ and channel needs and behaviours and align to our offers linked to the development of new services and programs and the communication thereof.
    • Generate ideas for new customer interaction strategies and campaigns based on customer data.
    • Develop proposals for how Crop Science products can bring value to local food chain players’ final product; leverage concepts developed by global food chain management.
    • Proactively screen the impact of environmental changes on ALS and suggest suitable back-up/ fall-back options for relevant MWBs.
    • Define value proposition for services provided both independently and as part of integrated solutions; customize value propositions by customer segment, and educate Marketing and Sales colleagues how to communicate/push these services/solutions effectively.
    • Establish and manage partnerships with services suppliers.
    • Monitor effectiveness of services implementation.
    • Promote mind set shift internally/externally from using discounts/rebates to using services as a driver of customer loyalty.
    • Provide input for regional portfolio strategies to ensure availability of services that require scale and are managed on regional level.
    • Design, role out, monitor customer incentive/loyalty programs and campaigns to channel, sales, SAC.
    • Implement digital communication tools (e.g., web, phone, tablet, etc.) in order to support our customer.
    • Provide and approve web content and social media for products, services, solutions and special initiatives.
    • Partner with Branding Manager and outside agencies to develop and implement innovative communications strategies, plans and metrics that enhance brand awareness and relevancy.
    • Disseminate information and provide training for internal stakeholders
    • Who you are:

    Qualification and Experience:

    • B Sc or Higher Diploma in biological sciences
    • At least 5 years experience in a Crop Protection Environment
    • Good Writing and Communication Skills
    • Proficience in MS Office Packages - Powerpoint, Word and Excel.
