Job description

My Client is looking for an exceptional candidate to fulfil the role of Software Engineer. The role of the Software Engineer position is to analyse, design, develop, implement and maintain software applications according to the business requirements, while maintaining the full application development lifecycle at a high level of coding standards. This position requires a good understanding of testing techniques, strong written and organizational skills and networking experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

• Provide technical expertise with regards to the development and integration of content channels into the ecosystem.
• Collecting, understanding, and transmitting the business requirements for the project, and translating these into functional specifications and a detailed technical solution.
• Lead in the design, implementation and testing of software integrated into the product to ensure the highest quality product possible while assisting in bringing those projects to market on time.
• Apply industry recognized system architecture best practices, standards, and techniques.
• Perform technical troubleshooting covering web service integration, middleware, performance and product related issues.
• Effectively communicate with product and design teams during new feature reviews and throughout product development
• Refine and develop test plans for new products/features and ensure adequate test coverage.
• Responsible for testing new Service components in early development phases, interfacing with external partners, and running tests to support the Service.
• Represent QA concerns in meetings with cross-functional, project team members and provide valuable end-user feedback to improve the customer experience.
• Lead QA in working with the Service development teams to test new products
• Troubleshoot issues down to the root cause and provide detailed bug reports.
• Record all test results for each test suite and provide a high level summary for areas tested.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Proven ability to work with multiple programming languages and platforms such as PHP, Python with extensive use of javascript and JSON
• Proven ability to create and work with REST webservices
• Ability and willingness to learn new programming languages
• Ability to create detailed functional requirements specifications
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS
• Extensive experience with JSON and XML
• Ability to accurately estimate software tasks and work to schedule.
• Extensive experience with Web Services
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures, and guidelines to support operational processes
• Expertise in testing web service APIs and related technologies.
• Experience with generating and presenting quantitative reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of consumer product and web user interfaces and networking functionality
